I still remember skipping school to watch Baz Luhrmann's Romeo & Juliet. The technicolour scenes on Venice Beach and the modern interpretation of the age old Bard's tale was truly fresh & inspiring. Watching the fresh faced Leonardo di Caprio & Claire Danes in love against all odds, and Harold Perrineau as Mercutio defending his friend even if it meant death. I know this is probably romanticising it, When Doves Cry is a tribute to the loves we will have in our lifetime. And that they are worth fighting & protecting, no matter how difficult it can be.

The Blushing Bride - Sold

The Blushing Bride features a petite pair of faceted rose quartz coins wrapped in vermeil. The gorgeous little babies are a mere 6mm wide (yes, less than 1cm). Despite the name of this baby it's perfect for daily wear and that special occasion too. The Blushing Bride hangs off 14k goldfilled earposts.

A series of 3 white jade globes are divided by pyrite donuts. The pyrite donuts were a favourite of mine since i laid my hands on them almost 3-4 years ago. Everytime i took it out of the box, I never managed to find a way to use it that would have been different and to make it truly gorgeous.

Set against the white jade rounds, I think it's finally found its perfect match. Necklace measures a comfortable 18".

Deuce is part of the K + 79 series and is finished with a matte black lobster clasp for the final black accent.

Novus - Sold

It's been a really long break for me since I last made any jewellery and posted them for sale. Occasionally I'd pull something out, make a complete necklace, not take photos & just keep them in a bag. Not quite sure why, but things got really stale, and I felt like I had nothing new to offer. I don't even know if this time round I'll manage anything spectacular, but I do have some beads that I don't want to keep in the drawers, left to be forgotten. So hopefully I do those beads some justice, and we'll see how things go.  

Novus means a new beginning, a fresh start. Hopefully I dig deep enough to find something, to call as Earring Addict's own once again. 

Novus kickstarts with a classic design that everyone is familiar with, Swarovski opal starburst matched with amethyst drops on sterling silver hooks for the starstruck and the bejewelled set. Plenty of pastel tones to fit into Spring's latest colour palette. The amethyst drops measure a hefty 1.5cm height, if i could measure it in carats i'm sure it wouldn't be a lacklustre number.

Mint Royale - Sold

Mint Royale is the perfect embodiment of this afternoon's weather. Finally a reprieve from the intense heat, the cool winds & cloudy skies is starting my long weekend in a perfect way. Mint Royale with frosty mint Swarovski crystals, matched with 14k matte gold plated lace & cream Swarovski pearls hanging off your ears, as your body sways to Kirsty Maccoll's Mambo de La Luna is probably the best way to spend a Saturday like today.

Earring Addict & The Pigeonhole

So this is something that I'm really excited to share. There's this cool little cafe/space in Duxton Rd, opened recently by a friend of a friend. They sell interesting books, musicians can come in to use their space to stage a little performance, people will be invited to come in to talk about social issues (migrant workers & minimum wage are the 2 topics lined up for March). They also hold some really fun & wacky stuff like powerpoint KTV as well as Music Camp. They're all fun & wacky & serious at the same time. Just the kind of place I like to go. :D

And next Sunday they'll be holding a fortnightly flea market, Sunday Eclectica, which i'll be taking part. We've even got a cozy little corner, so hopefully you will get a nice space to take a look at our stuff and generally have a good time. :)

Aeryn - Sold

I've generally never been a huge fan of lockets coz the local supplies always didn't yield very pretty lockets, nor seem sturdy enough for long time use. But recently i managed to get my hands on a batch of heirloom lockets that were made from the same machines that made lockets 50 years ago. Yes, proper heirloom stuff made to last for decades.

I figured this locket would be a good piece of jewelry to start this decade. Aeryn features a thick brass filigree locket measuring 45mm width. I probably can't explain how good this feels in your hands, except that it's got a really good weight & sturdiness that you get when you touch good quality products. Some things just feel solidly built and give you that assurance y'know.

I know that the price may seem exceptionally high (and i'm not marking up much on it, not that i usually do but you get my point), but i'd assure you when this lasts you at least 10 years, you'd probably look at it differently.

Green Bottles - Sold

The refreshing rains have come along, and Green Bottles captures that refreshing feeling perfectly for me. The cool, transclucent pale green glass beads has such a softness to it that reminds me of the cool air that is left behind by the heavy, cold rains. I've match a yellow-based polymer clay bead that is dotted with colourful flowers with the soft green glass beads, and as an accent, i've included an irregular opalescent glass nugget to complete this bracelet. Green Bottles measures 7.5" long.

Breakfast at Tiffany's - Sold

Paul Varjak's love story probably wouldn't have been as fascinating if the lady he pined after wasn't Holly Golightly. The way she reveled in the male attention, yet behave like an innocent bambi when she realised she could trust him. That probably is one of the modern fairytales that everybody loves to hate, yet hates to love. Breakfast at Tiffany's features a Love brass charm, that hangs off a 24" brass toned necklace.

Mystic Falls - Sold

If you watch Vampire Diaries, you'll know what i'm talking about. Mystic Falls, home to the supernatural, vampires, werewolves, amongst i'm sure more creatures that we'll see as the seasons unfold. Mystic Falls is also home to a few love stories, a story of strong friendships, and of growing up. We all know how all that feels. Almost aww-inducing.

The 2 hand blown glass beads from Perth kind of remind me of that deep pooling of mystery, as well as something less sinister, and perhaps a little squishy love. When sometimes the darkness threatens to overcome us, we always step out of it, that bit more grown up, that bit stronger.

Msytic Falls measures 3.8cm tall and comes complete with 14k gold plated ear hooks.

Seeing Double - Sold

Seeing Double features our adorable girl that appeared in the much loved I'm not worried, I'm Happy necklace. This time round we found her pint sized sister that bears a striking resemblance to her. Decked out in the exact same wellies, polka dotted scarf, and raincoat!

The two sisters measure 3cm & 2cm respectively, and hang off a 24" necklace.

Zoe - Sold

Zoe features a pair of 1.5cm gold drops that hang off 14k gold ear posts for a simple, classic look. Like they say don't reinvent the wheel if you don't have to. The classics will always bring that touch of class & style to any outfit you wear. Zoe measures a total of 2.3cm.

Ribbon & Twine - Sold

Ribbon & Twine features a 14mm tall haematoid quartz with the lightest pink streaks against a clear quartz oval. Like pink ribbons that are wielded deftly by rhythmic gymnasts, the haematoid streaks across the clear quartz with the lightest of touches and brightens up with its delightful presence.

The black electroplated ball chain, as hardy as twine, serves to anchor the oval for a contrasting presence. Finally finishing the 23" necklace with an elegant 14k gold plated tab.

Elisabeth - Sold

Elisabeth features some really gorgeous moss agate teardrop beads. With some really luscious looking gemmy babies, this is one of my favourite necklaces from my collection of recently accomplished necklaces. Simple and easily classy, the green & gold combination will set you apart from the others trying to out-bling you at a party, or at a casual occasion. Almost effortless i say.

Ruby quartz puffed squares dangle off hammered rhodium plated ovals for a classical look. Silver for the staple and the soft pinkish hues of the ruby quartz for the feminine quality. The Crystal King - Sold

In the Ohio Caverns, where some of the most gorgeous stalactite formations are found, the Crystal King hangs off the ceiling at a depth of 103meters below surface. The furthest away from the ground amongst all its other spectacular formations.

The Crystal King carries the same clarity & sharpness as the natural formation. This petite version hangs off rhodium ear posts and measures a total of 3.5cm.

Chains of Steel - Sold

Some people proclaim strength of physicality, some of resolution and some of faith. For me when everything else starts crumbling, i believe strongest in resolution, only because i am pig-headed and sometimes absolutely stubborn.

I'm sure you have your own strength, however may the earrings Chains of Steel remind you that one of us, is only as strong as all of us. Sometimes you don't always have to be the winner. And if everyone can succeed while linking arms, that's quite a mighty feat too.
